How Lithium Battery Conversions Work
Lift It Equipment supplies and installs lithium batteries on the Central Coast, replacing lead-acid units across a range of equipment. For golf carts, the conversion typically takes a few hours, depending on make and model, and includes installing new wiring and charging systems to integrate the lithium battery correctly. Our qualified and experienced team completes all conversions in our fully equipped workshop. Once complete, we carry out a full quality check before the equipment is returned to you.
We also conduct customised lithium conversions for forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks and walk-behinds. Our partners manufacture each battery to suit your specific machine, built to the right specifications and balanced correctly for safe, reliable operation. It's a more involved process than a golf cart conversion, but the performance gains are just as worthwhile. To make a booking or find out more, call Tyler on 0466 903 684.

Ask the Experts
Thinking about upgrading to lithium batteries on the Central Coast? Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often.
What is the difference between lithium and lead-acid batteries?
Lithium batteries offer several advantages over traditional lead-acid units, including a longer lifespan, faster charging times and more consistent voltage output throughout each charge cycle. They are also significantly lighter, which improves the overall efficiency and performance of your equipment. While the upfront cost of a lithium battery is typically higher, the reduced maintenance requirements and longer service life generally make it the more cost-effective option over time.
How long does a lithium battery conversion take?
For most golf carts, a lithium battery conversion can be completed in a few hours, though the exact timeframe depends on the make and model of your equipment. Forklift conversions, reach trucks and other industrial machinery may take longer due to the more complex specifications and counterbalance requirements involved. It's worth booking in advance to ensure the right battery can be manufactured and sourced to suit your specific machine.
Will a lithium battery work with my existing golf cart or forklift?
In most cases, yes — lithium batteries can be retrofitted to a wide range of existing golf carts and forklifts. The conversion process typically involves installing new wiring and a compatible charging system alongside the battery itself. However, compatibility can vary depending on the age and condition of your equipment, so it's always worth getting a professional assessment before proceeding to make sure the conversion is suitable for your machine.
Why Make the Switch?
Upgrading from lead-acid to lithium delivers a noticeable difference across several areas, and once you've made the switch, it's hard to imagine going back.
- Longer lifespan: Outlast lead-acid units, for better value.
- More consistent performance: Stable voltage, less wear.
- Lighter weight: Improves efficiency & performance.
- Lower maintenance: Faster charging & greater reliability.
- Environmentally friendlier: Fewer toxic chemicals.
